FRES in Benin

FRES_in_benin_met_overzicht_afrika_screenBenin has almost 9 million inhabitants of which 39% lives in poverty. 22% of the population has access to electricity.

In 2010 we set up a FRES company in Benin to claim a concession zone and tax exemptions. We hope to sign the required contract for the concession area with the government of Benin by mid-2011. It also exempts us from customs duties and VAT for customers. If we succeed, we will focus on the regions in the north of the country; le Borgou, l'Alibori, l'Atacora en la Donga. The objective is to connect 10,000 customers in eight years time in the period from 2011 to 2018.
